SHAH ALAM - Bersatu has denied speculation that the party will pull out of the government after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob cancelled their scheduled meeting at 2.30pm, yesterday.
Bersatu information chief Wan Saiful Wan Jan said concerns over the government's administration, the direction of the government, governance and integrity issues were raised during the party's political bureau and supreme leadership council meeting on Tuesday.
"Due to that, we decided to send a delegation to meet the prime minister to voice our concerns.
"That was supposed to take place yesterday (Aug 4) at 2.30pm but was canceled at the last minute. The issue of leaving the government did not arise at all," he told Sinar Daily.
He was asked on The Star report quoting an unnamed source that Bersatu may pull out of the government after the prime minister’s reluctance to honour an agreement to appoint a deputy prime minister Bersatu.
Wan Saiful further: "I think it is important to deny this because it creates a polemic that we do not know about.
