Sinar Karangkraf Group's Head of Marketing Nik Justin Nik Mohd Ariffin said the Main Category gained the attention of many due to its attractive prize.

He said the winner of the Creative Category stole the spotlight with an out-of-the-box idea.

He said Bahrin who was in his 20s became the only contestant who submitted his entry in a form of a video.

"Since the contest was organised, this was the first time we received an entry in digital form for this category. The rest were in physical form.

"However, the decision was not based on that factor alone as the video was produced in line with the theme of the contest which was to portray Sinar Harian as a news provider that is closed to the people with a fresh look and perspective," he said.

Nik said this at the programme hosted by Addy Junaidi at Studio F, Karangkraf Group Complex, here, which was aired live on all Sinar Harian digital platforms.

Also present were Sinar Karangkraf Group Chief Executive Officer Farah Hussamuddin and Group Editor-in-Chief Rozaid Rahman who drew the winners for the main category and mystery prizes.

The Collect and Win contest started from June 2 until July 26 in conjunction with the newspaper's new look.

A 10-panel jury had chosen Bahrin as the Creative Category winner.

He was also the youngest winner for the category in all three editions of the contest.

Nik added that three lucky readers were surprised with mystery prizes and they will get to enjoy cruising aboard the Resorts World Cruises ship for three days and two nights from Klang to Singapore worth RM10,000.

He said the holiday package mystery prize was in line with the Sinar Harian 16 Fun Walk programme held on Sunday morning with over 3,000 participants.

"The holiday package is a sign of appreciation for readers that have never stopped supporting Sinar Harian," he said.

Nik said overall, more than 10,000 entries were received from the Collect and Win contest and 300 for the Creative Category.

He said all the contestants were given a month of free access to Sinar Premium exclusive news.
