PUNCAK ALAM – Corporate figure Tan Sri Rozali Ismail has expressed his readiness to contest as a candidate in the 15th General Election (GE15).
The Puncak Niaga Holdings Bhd executive chairman said he would want to contest in Kuala Selangor.
"I developed Bandar Puncak Alam on Felda Bukit Cherakah’s land and that’s why it’s closer to my heart even though I was raised in Felda Gedangsa, Hulu Selangor.
"Probably, I will compete in Kuala Selangor,” he said at a press conference after the third Puncak Alam City Inter Phase Sports Carnival (SUKAF 2022) at the Puncak Alam City Mosque here on Sunday.
However, Rozali said he is still deciding if he should contest parliamentary or state seats.
He is expected to set up a new party to represent today’s generation of settlers, especially of Felda.
"We want to ensure that Felda farms are well managed and eventually settlers should get huge profits to build their family and communities," he said.
They are currently listing down the party's constitution before submitting it to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) next month.
Rozali said, his party is currently evaluating and collecting data on settlers’ heirs who have become corporate figures, bankers, doctors, and engineers and have the ability to help the Felda community in the future and to potentially be candidates for GE15.
