SHAH ALAM - PKR central election department chairman Fuziah Salleh describes the party’s machinery as those who have been given an M16 but do not know how to use it.
She said the machinery was not using its full potential to prepare for the upcoming general election (GE), which was their business core to uphold their fight.
"This is our machinery, we have been given an M16 or a weapon, but we don’t know how to use it.
"The general election is our core business. No party fights without wanting to win the election.
"It is stupid not to want to win the GE because we want to uphold our reforms and principles. Not for a position, project or position,” she said during her speech at PKR 16th Annual Congress held at IDCC Shah Alam, Selangor.
She said the party’s machinery only knew how to raise the party flags, but the party managed to put together a structure for the election where the members started going to the ground because they were aware of their responsibilities to the party.
She also commented on those who kept using Facebook or media statements as a platform to bring down the party.
"Why is there no internal channel for us to discuss because there have always been those posting on Facebook, always making live videos and media statements.
"This is what destroys the party and leads to our defeat,” she said.
She further insisted that they needed to work together to build the party by taking care of the party’s internal and outer matters.
"If we want to win, we have to take care of our internal and outer affairs because if we do not gain the confidence of the people, it is not possible for us to hold on to the seats we have won.
"We need to build our party together, like what Wan Aziziah said yesterday, if you don’t want to do that then just leave the party.
"We should be seen by the opponents and all the voters out there that we deserve a mandate from the people,” she added.
On Friday, PKR advisory council chairperson Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail addressed the party’s internal conflict and the enemies within and could not hold back her emotions as she spoke about this matter.
Referring to the recent PKR polls, which sparked rifts over allegations of manipulation and vote-buying, she said ‘don’t destroy what we have built together.’
"Only God knows my love for the party. In a party election, there will be those who win and lose in any contest. That is normal,”
"We are not enemies. We are at the same party. If you want to leave, go ahead. Do not be an enemy from within,” she had said.
