SHAH ALAM - Pas is considering the use of a new logo that is suitable for the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15).
Its president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said discussions within the party have been made to change the symbol (logo) to face GE15.
He clarified that they will not use both logos, without confirming whether it will be the Pas or Perikatan Nasional (PN) logo.
"We talked about changing the symbol. We discussed in the party to create a new and suitable symbol.
"We will discuss this again. To be sure, not both logos. It is still under discussion, even the election is not known yet,” he said when met at a press conference through a video recording on his Facebook in Marang, Terengganu on Friday.
Commenting on his expectations about GE15, Hadi said the actual day will take into consideration the global economic situation.
He said, until now, they still hold to the fact that the current government will rule until the end of its administration.
"However, if the situation calls for desperate measures, then it can change at any time. Whenever the budget has been presented,” he said.
Meanwhile, Abdul Hadi denied the existence of any agreements between PN and the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to appoint a deputy prime minister.
He further said that discussions on it had been done but no decision had been made.
The Marang MP also felt it was pointless to appoint a deputy prime minister at this time because solving the people's problems is the most important thing.
"We are still holding on to the early days when we formed the government (that is) there was no deputy prime minister and it is still (so).
"There are discussions about it but no decision has been made because we are still busy handling the people's affairs. There is no promise with PN on the appointment of the DPM,” he said.
Earlier on July 2, PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he had met with Ismail Sabri to discuss several important matters, including the post of deputy prime minister.
Muhyiddin had said the meeting was held so that PN's agreement with the Prime Minister could be considered.
Meanwhile, Bersatu Information Chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan was reported to have said that there was a written agreement to appoint a DPM between PN and Ismail Sabri.
The agreement was allegedly made before Ismail Sabri was appointed Prime Minister to replace Muhyiddin who lost the majority support in the Dewan Rakyat.
