SHAH ALAM – Following the complaints received on the voting process in the PKR polls, Gombak PKR Youth (AMK) Deputy President said a thorough audit should be conducted instead of just on the physical polls.
In a statement, Khairul Anwar Rosnan said the party had appointed a Digital Forensic Audit Specialist to conduct a thorough audit of the results of PKR Election 2022 following the complaints lodged, however only the physical results were audited.
"What party members expected was a complete audit is done but only physical audit has been carried out.
"This has led to significant changes to the election results that became a question mark. Did anyone interfere in the audit results?
"This is because there are no candidate representatives or an independent party authorised by the election committee to ensure the auditing process applies transparently," Khairul said in a statement.
Khairul also said the application might not be hacked but it may be manipulated because there were claims that several JPP committees themselves supported the contesting leaders.
"Party leaders, both from the Wanita and AMK wings, mostly kept their mouths shut. It's like there is something preventing the leadership to issue a statement and they are getting ready for the 15th General Election (GE15) which is likely to take place soon.
"While the party needs to prepare for GE15, the leadership should also remember every member has a right to get justice because these members were the ones who voted, sacrificed their time and money.
"However, when discrepancies took place, these individuals kept quiet, is it because of fear of not being given a place in the party or fear of not being nominated?” Khairul questioned.
He said previously, PKR polls had to conduct re-voting on several branches and divisions due to technical problems since the voting process took place through the online system.
"Re-voting was done due to technical problems as there were difference in the number of voters present based on the supervisor's records at the polling station and voting website.
"Due to data differences, JPP received almost 1,799 complaints. The JPP has also appointed a panel to identify problems which occurred," he said.
Commenting further, Khairul claimed the PKR election was seen as not transparent and several logistical problems took place from the beginning.
"The JPP must respond to the statement that has been submitted where only data on physical voters were audited and if the online voting system had no problems, they should have a strong justification by opening the ballot box in front of the candidates and allowing Digital Forensic Audit Specialists to conduct an audit.
"If this cannot be done, it is better for JPP to tell the truth,” he said.
Khairul also said his victory would not be overshadowed and whatever incident occurred in the PKR polls this year should be revealed.
"I am grateful to have won the post, and it is a trust and responsibility to me. Even with the winning, it will not stop me from telling the truth by fighting for the principle of justice, truth and reform that are applied in PKR," he said.
