PASIR SALAK – Umno Pasir Salak division will still support Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob as the prime minister after the 15th General Election (GE15).
Although some parties were unhappy with Ismail Sabri's leadership, its division director Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said the issue did not undermine the public's confidence.
He claimed that the administration had carried out number of steps to help lessen the burden on the public.
"I still stand by the Prime Minister and give him my support regardless of what people say about him.
"As the representative of the people, I promise to provide strong support for him (Ismail) to become PM, whether or not I am the leader.
"We want Datuk Seri (Ismail Sabri) to continue to be the Prime Minister after the general election,” he said when met at the closing ceremony of the Perak State Malaysian Family Aspirations Tour Program at Dato' Sagor Circuit, Kampung Gajah today,
Ismail Sabri and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad were also present at the event.
On June 22, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed, the deputy chairman of the Umno Johor, publicly denounced Ismail Sabri, calling him the worst Umno Prime Minister in the organisation's history.
A news source reported that Nur Jazlan's criticism was directed at Ismail Sabri for making a delayed judgement about Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin's position in the government.
This comes after Zuraida announced that she left Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and joined Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM), as well as submitted her resignation as Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities.
