PUTRAJAYA - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is scheduled to meet with the Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin this morning.
The meet-up before the cabinet meeting was believed to revolve around Zuraida's seat in the cabinet after the Ampang MP had announced her exit from Bersatu, a part of the ruling party Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin previously claimed that Zuraida's position was given to the party due to the party's quota.
He said the position of a minister was always a part of the promise between Ismail Sabri and PN leaders.
Ismail Sabri, while in Tokyo, Japan, recently stated Zuraida was still a cabinet minister and must attend to her duties as usual until a decision was made.
On May 26, Zuraida, through a statement announced that she had left Bersatu to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) and stepped down from her position as a minister.
Before joining Bersatu, Zuraida held the position of Vice President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) before being fired after she left the party with several other MPs, which eventually brought down the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government through the Sheraton Move.
