CEO Cradle Fund murder case: Fate of Samirah, two teens to be known tomorrow

SHAH ALAM - The fate of Samirah Muzaffar and her two teenage sons will be known tomorrow - whether they will be released or called to defend charges for the murder of Nazrin Hassan, Cradle Fund Chief Executive Officer (CEO) four years ago.

Datuk Ab Karim Ab Rahman, the High Court Judge is expected to read the results of the charges tomorrow at 9am.

If the court's decision favours the prosecution, Samirah,47 and the two teenagers will have to make their defense, while the decision against the prosecution would have them freed.

The decision of the case was initially set for May 30 but Judge Ab Karim had postponed it to June 21 after hearing pleas.

Prosecution members, Deputy Public Prosecutor Raya Mohd Asnawi Abu Hanipah, Tengku intan Suraya Tengku Ismail and Nur Sabrina Abu Bakar, while the defense consists of lawyer, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah and Rahmat Hazlan.

On Feb 14, the prosecution closed the case after calling 57 witnesses including the siblings of the deceased, Dr Abdul Aziz, Dr Malek Reedzwan and Che Elainee, Chief of Kuala Lumpur Fire Department Edwin Galan Anak Teruki, Kuala Lumpur Hospital Pathology Forensic Officer Dr Suew Sheue Feng and security guard of the home of the deceased Raju Kumar Pandit.

The hearing began on Sep 6, 2019.
