SHAH ALAM - Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi has told Umno leaders to avoid appointing "traitors" to contest in the 15th General Election (GE15), stating that they are not necessarily "winnable, likable and acceptable".
He said that using the analogy of food that is served on a tray does not mean it is ‘tasty’, referring to the traitors.
"Candidates on the ‘tray’ are those who do not contribute in strengthening the party, and further burden and oppose to the party's decision.
"What's even worse, they quit the party when the party is in trouble,” he said in a statement.
The former minister added, however, they managed to be re-nominated during the by-elections and state elections and are treated as a "golden child".
"Stop this practice. It doesn't matter if they are ministers or millionaires.
"Do not hurt the heart of the party's grassroots members who are loyal,” he said.
