SHAH ALAM - Despite wishes of failure in education, Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam, 18 has proved her haters wrong by scoring 7As in her SPM results that were announced today.
She had championed for #MakeSchoolASaferPlace for countersuing her male teacher for allegedly making a rape joke in class after the instructor filed a defamation suit against the traumatised student.
In a TikTok video in May last year, Ain complained that her teacher had joked about rape in a health education class. The video went viral and ignited a nationwide debate on sex education and institutional misogyny, with many girls raising their voices over similar incidents.
In her tweet today, she said, despite being criticised, she managed to prove her success by obtaining 7As and 1B in the exam.
She said certain individuals did not want her to be "blessed" with good education after accusing her teacher of the rape joke.
"I cannot tell you, how pressured I felt during SPM. Not only were people telling me there is no 'berkat' or blessings in my studies, they continuously wished me a failure in my studies.
"They body-shamed me and tore me down from every standpoint they could," she said.
She also shared a screenshot of an individual who said people were praying for her failure.
"When I read that message, I promised myself I'm going to prove them wrong.
"Ain is not smart, Ain never achieved results like this but Ain believes all the blessings came from my teachers I met along the way who taught me and my friends."
She further said: "no matter what results you get, everyone deserves safety in schools, #MakeSchoolASaferPlace."
The student is also facing a RM1 million lawsuit after being accused of defamatory statements.
