KUALA LUMPUR - Karangkraf Book Group offers discounts up to 30 per cent at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair from now until June 12.
The Group’s Assistant General Manager of Sales Roziana Omar said all book products offered by Karangkraf at the book fair were discounted between five and 30 per cent for each purchase.
She said this includes all types of books such as novels, children’s books, recipes, Islamic books and various copies of the Quran.
"The latest, we have launched three types of Islamic book which are ’30 Teknik Tepat Tadabbur al-Quran’, ‘Nota My #hadis Time’ and ‘Tuhan Sedang Menguji Kita’ by Datuk Mohd Kazim Elias.
"These books are only available at the book fair and have not been released yet in any other bookstores.
"The public can get up to 15 per cent discount for these books,” she told Sinar Harian at the Karangkraf booth at the World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) here yesterday.
Commenting further on the three latest books, Karya Bestari book editor Mohd Hasrul Wahab said the readers could benefit from the ’30 Teknik Tepat Tadabbur al-Quran’ book which can help them understand the content of the Quran accurately.
"Sometimes, when we read the Quran without guidance we can be misleaded. Hence the book teaches us simple techniques with 15 beginner techniques and 15 intermediate techniques,” he said.
Meanwhile, ‘Tuhan Sedang Menguji Kita’ book was a revamped version with several additional chapters after the previous copy was launched ten years prior.
"This includes the sufferings experienced by Datuk Mohd Kazim Elias, where he shares about his illness, even tips and prayers which can be practiced in variety of situations.
"The third book, ‘Nota My #hadis Time’ is based on a show streamed on TV Alhijrah.
"The advantage of this book is that it combines two main sources where we choose one verse in each page of the Quran and relate it to a hadith,” he said.
Meanwhile, a book fair visitor Napisah Umar, 42, said, this was her first time visiting a book fair and most of the books offered were attractive and priced reasonably.
"Those who do not have a Karangkraf membership card can get discount up to 10 per cent for each purchase, while those who have, they can get deductions up to 15 per cent,” she said.
Meanwhile for Aliya Ariff, 24, each year she would join the book fair as she loves to read books, especially novels by Ramlee Awang Mursyid.
"I like it here because the price is cheaper when compared to other bookstores. I can get half the price for one book,” she said.
Similarly, a student Muhammad Ridwan Bakhtiar, 20, said he would not miss the opportunity to participate in any of the book fairs organized annually.
"I often participate in promotional sales offered by Karangkraf. The price is very cheap, in fact, many books of various genres are offered,” he said adding that he liked mystery or horror genres.
The book fair held at WTCKL starts from 10am until 10pm, with more than 100 exhibitors consisting of publishers, distributors and bookstores from local and abroad.
