KOTA BHARU - The fate of 2,600 contract teachers appointed in June 2020 will be extended for two years, said Education Minister Datuk Radzi Jidin.
However, details would be announced later after his ministry and the Education Service Commission (SPP) wrap up discussions, he added.
"Appropriate action will be taken based on existing rules and procedures," he said, adding that his ministry is constantly in talks on best approaches for contract teachers.
Yesterday, Radzi, in a post on his Facebook and Twitter account had instructed the matter to be given attention and resolved immediately.
On teachers opting for early retirement, he said the ministry would study it on case by case basis. - Bernama
