KUALA LUMPUR - Pas denies allegations that there are plans to oust several Umno leaders as stated in several meeting minutes that went viral on social media last Sunday.
Vice president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said that the documents, which stated how Perikatan Nasional (PN) planned to weaken Barisan Nasional (BN) were fabricated and spread by an irresponsible individual.
"How can you believe in such a ridiculous document? I can only laugh. They didn’t even spell my name right,” he said.
Samsuri said that after officiating the Terengganu Foundation presentation ceremony (Preparatory Assistance and Scholarship Scheme for Outstanding Students) in Wisma Darul Iman, yesterday.
The meeting minutes between Ahmad Samsuri and PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan as well as a few other party leaders dated March 24 and 27, and April 4 and 7 went viral.
Among the leaders allegedly present were Bersatu Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, Pejuang chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin and Senior Minister (Defence) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
Asked if such a meeting took place, Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Samsuri confessed that a meeting took place, but nothing controversial was discussed.
"We did meet up, but various issues were discussed in different capacities.
"The person who posted these documents definitely knew that such meetings were held, so he made up such a narrative,” he said.
However, the Rhu Rendang state assemblyman does not intend to take any legal action against the person who falsified these documents in question because the process is complicated and will take a lot of time.
"We don't even know who spread it in the first place, and the legal process is also complicated.
"We would have to file a police report and go back and forth to court just because of something that went viral. This is not right, and it’s not something worth entertaining," he said.
