No application on Najib-Anwar debate, says cops

KUALA LUMPUR - Police have no received any applications on the public debate between former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim scheduled to take place on May 12.

Brickfields District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the organisers have yet to provide the police with any details of the debate.

"So far there has been no applications,” he said briefly when contacted by Sinar today.

The debate, which is set to take place at Dewan Tunku Chancellor, Universiti Malaya, has been scheduled for 9pm and can be watched physically and via official media channels.

On Sunday, Pakatan Harapan communications director Fahmi Fadzil and Selangor Barisan Nasional Information Chief Isham Jalil in a joint press conference said the debate will be in three parts.

First in regards to the oil and gas company Sapura Energy Bhd and whether it needs to be rescued.

Second will be on Malaysia’s future, covering politics, governance and direction of the country while the third would be a question and answer session.
