SHAH ALAM - Malaysia recorded 9,673 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours as compared to 10,413 cases yesterday, indicating a downward trend in recorded cases.
However, the country still records 21 new fatalities related to Covid-19 including five brought in dead cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 42,875 since the pandemic began.
The Klang Valley still recorded the highest number of Covid-19 infections with 6,910 new cases detected in the last 24 hours.
Currently, there are 113,175 active cases with 110,385 (97.5 per cent) of them undergoing home quarantine.
Over 2,281 are hospitalised with 152 patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) and 87 patients requiring ventilator support.
The country has reported 4,372,697 Ovid-19 in total since the pandemic began.
In terms of vaccination, the country has administered 69,431,570 doses of vaccines with 79.9 per cent of the nation's population having completed at least two doses of vaccines.
