Fugitive Nicky Liow turns himself in to the police, faces 26 charges

SHAH ALAM - Fugitive businessman Nicky Liow has turned himself in to police today, Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Datuk Kamarudin Md Din.

He said Liow voluntarily surrendered himself to police at Bukit Aman around 11am today and will be taken to the Shah Alam court tomorrow to face 26 charges.

In a statement, he added the charges are under Section 4(1)(a) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act (AMLATFA) 2001.

This comes after almost a year of escaping the authorities.

The 34-year-old was wanted by police over alleged involvement in organised crime including fraud and money laundering.

It was reported that over a year ago, police had hauled up 68 people believed to be part of Liow’s gang.

They also seized 16 luxury vehicles, including a Rolls Royce, as well as foreign currency totalling over RM7 million through 70 raids.
