MySejahtera recognized by the EU as equal to its Digital Covid Certificate

SHAH ALAM - The European Union (EU) has accepted Malaysia’s request to recognise MySejahtera's certificate as being equal to the EU's Digital Covid Certificate.

This has been announced by the EU ambassador to Malaysia Michalis Rokas on his Twitter describing it as a booster for business and tourism.

"Some great news: The EU has accepted Malaysia's request for establishing the equivalence between the EU's Digital Covid Certificate and Malaysia’s MySejahtera. A booster for business and tourism!.

"Malaysia shall be connected to the EU Digital Covid Certificate trust framework established by Regulation (EU) 2021/953.

"This decision shall enter into force on April 4, 2022,” said Rokas.

In regards to this, the Health Minister, Khairy Jamaluddin has responded to the Twitter post made by Rokas saying "Reconnecting Malaysia and the EU”.

Malaysia in its report to the EU stated that the MySejahtera application issued Covid-19 vaccination certificates for vaccination shots by Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca-Oxford, Sinovac, CanSino and Sinopharm.

In addition, the report also stated said the MySejahtera application also contains coronavirus test certificates for nucleic acid amplification tests such as the reverse transcription-polymerase vhain reaction (RT-PCR) but it does not include the rapid antigen tests as well Malaysia does not issue certificates of recovery from Covid-19.
