SHAH ALAM - Pakatan Harapan (PH) has claimed 11 seats in the 15th Johor state election.
The 11 consists of 10 DAP seats and one Amanah seat.
Amanah's sole winner is its vice-president Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, who retained the Simpang Jeram state seat, with a 2,399 majority.
He secured 8,749 votes, against PN’s Zarul Salleh (6,350 votes), BN’s Lokman MD Don (6,062 votes), and Pejuang’s Mahaizal Mahmor (208 votes).
Salahuddin is also Pulai MP, in which he won in the 14th General Election.
As for DAP, despite winning 10 seats last night they did not manage to retain four seats - Yong Peng, Paloh, Beck and Pekan Nanas.
The Jementah seat saw Ng Kor Sim winning with a 714 majority, in which she secured 8,877 votes against BN’s See Ann Giap (8,163 votes) and PN’s Maimunah Safwah Musa (4,654 votes).
Ee Chin Li won the Tangkak state seat with 372 majority, securing 8,105 votes against BN’s Ong Chee Siang (7,733 votes), PN’s Chong Fat Full (3,092 votes), Pejuang’s Muhammad Airel Zabridin (789 votes) and independent candidate Zainal Bahrom A Kadir (121 votes).
Ng Yak Howe won the Bentayan seat with a massive 7,476 majority.
Ng secured 10,973 votes against BN’s Gan Qi Ru (3,497 votes), and PN’s Eddy Tan Kok Hong (2,534 votes).
In Penggaram, Gan Peck Cheng won state seat with a big majority of 9,956.
She secured 18,208 votes, against BN’s Tek Hwa Kwong (8,252 votes), PN’s Ronald Sia Wee Yet (5,276 votes) and independent candidate Zahari Osman (2,190 votes).
Chew Chong Sin Has victoriously won the Mengkibol seat with 10,107 majority, securing 19,813 votes, against BN’s Kelly Chye Pei yee (9,706 votes), and PN’s Wong Chan Giap (4,116 votes).
In Senai, meanwhile, Wong Bor Yang secured 16,525 votes against BN’s Kenny Shen Poh Kuan (10,604 votes), and PN’s Yeo Kwee Kwang (4,802 votes). He obtained 5,921 majority for the seat.
A crowd favourite and first-time candidate, Marina Ibrahim won the Skudai state seat with a whopping 13,943 majority.
She secured 26,359 votes against BN’s Lim Soon Hai (12,416 votes), and PN’s Khoo Kong Ek (6,258 votes).
Johor DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong won Perling state seat with 3,347 majority, where he secured 18,628 votes against BN’s Tan Hiang Kee (15,281 votes) and PN’s Khoo Siaw Lee (8,829 votes).
In Stulang, Andrew Chen Kah Eng won state seat with 2,866 majority.
He secured 12,499 votes against BN’s Ang Boon Heng (9,633 votes), PN’s Yap Chiang Youis (3,789 votes), PBM’s Saiful Bahari (1,359 votes), and Bebas’s Moharam Baharom (594 votes).
Lastly, Liow Cai Tung won the Johor Jaya state seat with 1,922 majority.
She secured 19,782 votes, against BN’s Chan San San (17,860 votes), PN’s Ker Ching Sheng (8,307), and Warisan’s Victor Chen Hain Kai (1,448 votes).
DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang accepted the four losses and claimed that if parties had been given an extra week of campaigning, the results would have been different.
