AYER HITAM - Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir did not hold back his disgust of Datuk Seri Najib Razak when he called the latter "stupid" and "shameless", for supposedly parading that he had done no wrong despite a clear criminal conviction.
Dr Mahathir refuted Najib's claim that the government and by extension Malaysians, are not left to pay off the debts left behind by the 1MDB scandal.
"I am disgusted when I hear him speak in the Dewan Rakyat that the debt incurred by 1MDB will not be payed by the government. So stupid.
"The government use funds to pay off the interest and this cost the government to have less money that could actually help the people,'' he said.
Dr Mahathir, who is Pejuang Chairman, was making his first appearance today for the Johor state polls despite the doctor's orders for him to rest.
During his event at Ayer Hitam today, Dr Mahathir seems to be in high spirit and in good health while still able to deliver witty remarks and jest with the crowd.
Dr Mahathir also stated that Najib is an "extraordinary person" and is "shameless" for thinking that he is innocent and even to the extent of popularising the term "Apa Malu Bossku" (what's the shame, boss).
"I think if Najib were to go naked in public, he would have no shame. Civilised people should feel shame when they do something wrong but not Najib,'' he said.
In his speech, Dr Mahathir also stated that Johoreans are in a special position to lead a change in national politics by denying victory to "kleptocrats" and "criminals" and urging voters to give Pejuang a chance.
