PONTIAN - Caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohamad arrives at Benut Multipurpose Hall nomination centre at 9.02 for the N.53 Benut state seat.
Hasni, 63, who is the Johor Barisan Nasional chief, arrived at the centre with a supporter and proposer.
He dressed in blue baju melayu and waved to media members, thanking them for coming.
Hasni is the incumbent for the Benut seat since the 12th General Election (GE12).
Dewan Negara senator Datuk Isa Ab Hamid from Perikatan Nasional (PN) has also arrived, followed by Iskandar Noor Ibrahim from Pejuang and Haniff @ Ghazali Hosman from PKR.
Benut is a state seat under Pontian Parliament with 28,165 voters registered with the Elections Commission (EC).
Another state seat under Pontian is N.54 Pulai Sebatang.
In the 14th General Election (GE14), Hasni won a majority of 4,447 beating PKR’s Zulkifly Tasrep and Firdaus Jaffar from Pas.
All 56 nomination centres are opened today for the Johor state election from 9am to 10am. - Awani
