SHAH ALAM: The much awaited meeting between the Parliamentary Select Committee and Security Commission (SC) over the controversy surrounding top graft buster Azam Baki’s share ownership has been postponed.

The meeting was scheduled to be held tomorrow at 9am,

Subang MP Wong Chen who is one of the committee members said he is not aware of the reasons for the postponement but "SC in principle had agreed to meet them."

"We hope to meet them next week before the next parliamentary session end of this month," he told Sinar Daily.

Azam had previously said that his brother used his trading account to buy shares, and had denied any wrongdoings.

In December, SC had said it could not "conclusively establish” if Azam had broken laws after gathering evidence and completing its inquiry into the matter.

In a second statement, SC said an internal probe found that Azam was the named account holder and had control of the share trading account. It further said Azam had given instructions to buy, sell and transfer securities from the account.

Azam had said that he was prepared to be questioned by the PSC over share trade as long as it was according to the laws.
