KOTA KINABALU - Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) is ready to form alliances with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah or any other federal based parties if it would benefit the people in the state.
However, PCS President Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said his party will review any cooperation based on the set terms and agreements.
"We have to see how it is, if they put terms if you enter you can’t ask this, ask that, don’t voice this out, then there is no point to it. So it depends on the terms and agreements.
"If it is good for the party, good for us, good for the people, then we will consider. If there is an alliance or coalition, we must be equal partners, that is what we want,’’ he said to Sinar Daily recently.
Anifah, who is a former MP for Kimanis, also suggests for all the state parties to unite in a registered coalition to fight for the rights of Sabahan.
"This is what I had hope for when they enter GRS, they are registered, so then our people can fight for Sabah but we must be diplomatic too.
"We do not want to be confrontational but Kuala Lumpur (federal parties) must give us respect too.
"We have to work with federal parties because even if we work with Sarawak alone, it is not enough,’’ he said.
When asked about registering GRS as a formal coalition, Anifah agrees with the suggestion.
"From the beginning, I have said that it is good. Not that we are sidelining Umno but through GRS, all parties are the same whether they are Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) and others that will use the same symbol,’’ he said.
