KOTA BHARU - The Superbig Pharmacy in Kubang Kerian here is the first community pharmacy in the country to offer drive-through services, thus making it ultra-convenient for the public to purchase the medication needed.
Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS) president Amrahi Buang said the concept of picking up medicine via drive-through was a great idea, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"This community pharmacy provides services directly to the public with at least one pharmacist required to be available for the customers to consult on medications.
"The service is also subject to the laws including the Poisons Act 1952 whereby all sales of controlled drugs are done and monitored by pharmacists and must be recorded,” he told reporters after the opening ceremony of the pharmacy here today.
The ceremony was officiated by state Welfare, Family and Women Development Committee chairman Datuk Mumtaz Md Nawi with Superbig Capital Berhad Group chief executive officer Dr Wan Sazrina Wan Zaid also present.
Meanwhile, Dr Wan Sazrina said the community pharmacy provided maximum convenience to customers and made it easier for the public to comply with the standard operating procedures.
"The method of purchasing medicine via drive-through is most convenient because customers only need to drive by to place an order through a screen that displays prices and products and then proceed to take the ordered items and make payments,” she said. - BERNAMA
