ANIH Berhad issues travel advisory in conjunction with Chinese New Year celebrations

ANIH Berhad proposed a timetable for travellers heading East for CNY celebrations to avoid congestions.

SHAH ALAM - In expectation of the long weekend over Chinese New Year celebrations next week, two eastbound highway operators have issued a travel advisory to help reduce congestion.

ANIH Berhad, the concessionaire for Kuala Lumpur – Karak Expressway (KLK) and East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1), in a statement, has advised an appropriate timetable for would-be travellers heading East for the holidays.

Those leaving the Klang Valley to head to Pahang or Terengganu are advised to travel either between 5am and 9am or between 5pm and 8pm from Jan 29 to Jan 31.

ANIH also advised those heading to Kelantan from the Klang Valley to travel between the hours of 11am and 2pm or between 7pm and 10pm on the dates stated above.

Highway users making a return trip from Pahang to Klang Valley should do so between 6am and 10am or 7pm to 11pm from Feb 2 to Feb 6.

Those from Terengganu wanting to head to Kuala Lumpur are advised to travel between 8am and 11am or 8pm to 10pm, whereas those coming from Kelantan should make a move between 6pm and 9pm or 11pm to midnight on the same dates.

ANIH also announced that 1,400 face masks along with a printed version of the time travel schedule had been distributed at the toll plazas along KLK and LPT1 since Jan 25.

"We have also increased the frequency of sanitation and cleaning schedules at all cloud facilities at R&R and side stops along the highway,” said senior general manager and head of ANIH Berhad, Radzimah Mohd Radzi.

This was done to ensure strict adherence to the SOPs as outlined by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and the National Security Council (NSC) in an effort to prevent Covid-19 outbreaks.
