SHAH ALAM - Foreign Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah said Malaysia has progressed in terms of democratic maturity.
"As for how Malaysia has fared so far in terms of democratic maturity, I think the country is still in the process of maturing,” he said.
Saifuddin, who is also Indera Mahkota MP said it was crucial to develop a multiracial and moderate Malaysian democracy.
"I believe we need to motivate a reform and growth of a real multiracial political party in the nation,” he told Sinar Daily in an exclusive interview.
"That is why I am quite happy that Bersatu (Malaysian United Indigenous Party) has opened its wings as seen with the bersekutu, although it started as an all Malay or Bumiputra party,” he said.
