KOTA KINABALU - A headmaster was arrested by the Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC) after she was suspected of misusing RM 8,000 in donations funds.
The 60-year-old woman was arrested at about 11 am on Tuesday when she was called by the MACC to testify at the MACC Sandakan Branch office.
According to sources, the suspect came to the office to assist in the investigation regarding the donations she received.
However, the suspect was later released on bail and is expected to be charged in the Sandakan Special Corruption Court this week as well.
Meanwhile, Sabah MACC Director, Datuk S Karunanithy when contacted confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
"The case is being investigated under Sections 403 and 405 of the Penal Code," he said on Tuesday.
